Nomos has historically focused on the development of corporate banking, which has always been one of the strongest parts of its business. Nomos provides a broad range of banking products and services primarily to medium-sized private companies with annual revenue between RUB 200 million and RUB 10 billion.

Corporate Banking Operating Model

Nomos has a large, growing and well—diversified customer base across the regions and key business sectors. The Bank’s long standing corporate customer base is comprised of approximately 9.200 companies.

Corporate Banking Products and Services

Nomos’s corporate banking operations principally include corporate lending, deposit taking, foreign trade and project finance, issuance of guarantees, settlement and cash operations, factoring, payroll services for corporate clients and precious metals operations.

Lending Activity

Corporate lending remains Nomos’ key business and fosters a strong focus on credit risk management. As at 31 March 2011, loans to corporate customers stood at RUB 259.1 billion (circa US$ 9.12 billion) equal to 73.0% of the total customer loan portfolio.

Nomos is one of the largest corporate lenders in Russia with an well—diversified exposure to a wide range of industries, geographies and customer segments.

Precious Metals

Nomos has maintained an well-established position in the precious metals sector, being one of the first Russian banks to receive a precious metals license. Today the Bank’s annual volume of precious metals operations exceeds 30% of Russia’s total gold production.

Nomos’ main activities in this area include:

  • Trading in precious metals as a brokerage service (does not imply market risk)
  • Seasonal financing
  • Project finance for new deposits development
  • Syndicated loans to gold miners
  • Financing of technical renovation
  • Precious metals exports
  • Hedging metal accounts

In 2008, 2009 and 2010 Nomos received the Best Precious Metals Bank award and the Best Precious Metals Dealer award by the Interbank Precious Metals Dealers Association illustrating the long term high standard of expertise in this area.
