Nomos-Bank pays off $185 mln loan, new $100 mln loan planned for Oct

Nomos-Bank has paid off the $93.25 million second tranche of a syndicated loan,thereby meeting all its loan obligations from March 2007, the bank said in a statement on September 23.

The first tranche worth $91.75 million was paid on schedule on March 20 of this year.

Nomos-Bank plans to raise a new syndicated loan worth $100 million this October,the statement said. The funds will be used to finance the export and import operations of the bank’s clients.

It was earlier reported that the bank raised $185 million loan in two tranches to finance gold mining enterprises. Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG, Raiffeisen Austria, Standard Bank Plc and Societe Generale organized the loan.

Nomos-Bank was 14th largest Russian bank by assets in the first half of 2008 in the Interfax—100, compiled by the Interfax Center for Economic Analysis (CEA).
