Retail and SME Banking

Traditionally, NOMOS has focused primarily upon the provision of corporate banking. However, NOMOS has extended its operations to include retail banking, principally as a means of enhancing its corporate banking relationships. In line with this strategy, NOMOS has started to extend a range of deposit and credit services, including debit and credit card services, to individuals, focusing principally on the management and staff of its corporate customers, as well as SMEs.

NOMOS’ retail banking services are provided primarily through its branches, rather than through its head office. With the expansion in the variety of services offered by retail banking, the retail loan portfolio and deposit base has increased. As at 31 March 2007, outstanding loans to individuals, including general purpose consumer or vehicle loans (gross of allowances) amounted to RUR 3,191 million or 3.46% of NOMOS' total loans to customers. As at 31 December 2006, NOMOS held deposits from individuals totalling RUR 21,132 million.

NOMOS offers a wide range of retail products by way of a one-stop banking service through its branch network, including cash management account facilities, demand and term deposits and consumer loans, which also allows it to cross-sell its other financial products (including brokerage services and leasing).

NOMOS intends to deliver retail banking services through an expanded branch network complemented by ATM facilities, 24-hour telephone banking facilities and Internet banking. As at 31 March 2007 the number of issued plastic cards was approximately 261,570. To further develop its card business NOMOS started issuing chip cards in September 2006.
